Marlow 7×5 Pent Garden Shed

Description

The Marlow is the shed for a garden that has run out of room. At 7ft x 5ft with a single-slope pent roof it tucks flat against a fence or a boundary wall, and the roof drains to the back so nothing runs onto the path in front of the door. The wide door opening takes a wheelbarrow without a fight, and two tall windows along the side mean you can find a socket set without a torch.

Walls are 12mm shiplap tongue-and-groove on a planed 34mm x 34mm framework, a heavier build than our overlap sheds and noticeably more rigid. Boards are pressure-treated and then factory-finished in a soft mid-grey exterior paint. The floor is 11mm tongue-and-groove on bearers, the roof is 11mm boarding under mineral felt, and the door carries a black lever handle over a hasp and staple ready for a padlock.

Dimensions and materials

Care

The factory paint finish is ready to use and needs no treatment in the first season. Wash the cladding down with clean water once a year, touch in any scuffs with exterior paint, and re-coat every three years or so. Keep the felt clear of leaves and make sure the base stays free-draining so the bearers are never sitting in standing water.
